Tinners Morris

 

About four years ago a group men from South Zeal thought the idea of a men’s Morris Team was a good idea as several wives were already in the ladies Cogs & Wheels from Chagford.

 

So one winter a practice was started on a Sunday morning in the Victory Hall at South Zeal followed by a “Pint” in the pub afterwards They were fortunate to have the guidance of “Veteran Morris Man” Mike Palmer for both music and teaching, together with well know musician Matt Norman.

 

Tinners Morris named after the Dartmoor tin industry now dances out during the summer, with this year being asked for a second time to attend the Royal Cornwall Show and Dartmoor Folk Festival.

The team which is always looking for new members includes a wide range of men both young and old! and even the odd musician.
