TINNERS
Tinners Morris
Some years ago a group men from South Zeal and the surrounding area thought the idea of a men’s Morris Team was a good idea as several wives were already in the ladies Cogs & Wheels from Sticklepath.
So one winter a practice was started on a Sunday morning in the Victory Hall at South Zeal followed by a “Pint” in the pub afterwards They were fortunate to have the guidance of “Veteran Morris Man” Mike Palmer for both music and teaching, and now a reasonable repertoire has been built up.
Tinners Morris Men, named after the Dartmoor tin industry, now dance out at various events in the South West at local shows, festivals and events, including the Royal Cornwall Show at Wadebridge and Dartmoor Folk Festival at South Zeal.
New recruits are always welcome, all ages and no experience necessary. If you are interested in joining us, or coming to watch and would like further information please contact Dave on 01647 231051 or Mike 01647 433464.
The team which is always looking for new members includes a wide range of men both young and old! and even the odd musician.
So if anyone fancies coming along give either Roger a call on 01647 231080 or Mike 01647 433464.
